OVERVIEW / 概要
The Chair Project is an ongoing socially engaged art project in which a single chair travels from place to place, inviting people to sit, speak, and share stories of home, family, landscape, work, migration, and everyday life.
A chair is a simple object, but in this project it becomes a temporary stage for one person’s voice. Sitting creates time. Listening creates trust. Through photography, video, audio recording, and transcription, each encounter is documented with care and becomes part of a growing archive of voices, places, and lived experience.
チェア・プロジェクトは、一脚の椅子が場所から場所へと旅をし、人々がそこに座って、故郷、家族、風景、仕事、移動、日々の暮らしについて語る、継続中の社会参加型アート・プロジェクトです。
椅子はとてもシンプルなものですが、このプロジェクトでは、一人ひとりの声を受け止める小さな舞台になります。座ることで時間が生まれ、聴くことで信頼が生まれます。写真、映像、音声記録、文字起こしを通して、それぞれの出会いは丁寧に記録され、声、場所、暮らしの経験をつなぐアーカイブの一部となっていきます。
