WHO WE ARE
私たちについて
The Creative Culture Institute (CCI) is a nonprofit organization established in 2007 and rooted in the creative practice of Elgueda Ward Studio. Based in Mihama, Aichi, CCI develops long-term, place-based activities with residents and collaborators in Aichi and Himeshima, Oita.
Through art, dialogue, environmental responsibility, education, documentation, and civic participation, CCI creates opportunities for people to learn from one another, share local knowledge, and shape meaningful experiences together.
特定非営利活動法人 The Creative Culture Institute（CCI）は、Elgueda Ward Studioの創作実践を母体として、2007年に設立された非営利組織です。愛知県美浜町を拠点に、愛知県と大分県姫島村の地域住民や協働者とともに、土地に根ざした長期的な活動を展開しています。
アート、対話、環境への責任、教育、記録、市民参加を通して、人びとが互いに学び、地域の知恵を共有し、意味のある体験を共につくる機会を育んでいます。

THE MOUNTAIN PLAZA /
山の広場®
(2000-)
An outdoor ceramic theater sustained as a shared place for art, community gatherings, learning, and encounters with nature through long-term care and participation.
アート、地域の集まり、学び、自然との出会いを育む共有の場として、長期的な手入れと参加によって支えられてきた野外焼物劇場。
HIMESHIMA ENGAGEMENT /
姫島での地域協働
(2020-)
A long-term, place-based collaboration with island residents developed through dialogue, workshops, documentation, and shared cultural activities connecting local knowledge and community life.
島民との対話、ワークショップ、記録、文化活動を通して、地域の知恵や暮らしをつなぎながら育てる、土地に根ざした長期的な協働。
THE CHAIR PROJECT /
椅子のプロジェクト
(2020-)
A participatory dialogue project in which a single chair travels from place to place, inviting people to sit, share memories of home, and record their stories on location.
一脚の椅子が各地を旅し、そこに座る人との対話を通して故郷の記憶を聞き取り、その場で物語として記録する参加型プロジェクト。
ISLAND ATLAS /
島のアトラス
(2022)
A collaborative mapping project bringing together local knowledge, memories, maps, photographs, and residents’ perspectives to document Himeshima and imagine possible futures for the island.
地域の知恵、記憶、地図、写真、島民の視点を集め、姫島の姿を記録するとともに、島のこれからの可能性を共に描く協働型プロジェクト。

Long-term Community Base / 長期的な地域拠点
CCI strives to develop long-term activities with residents and local collaborators through dialogue, workshops, documentation, shared experiences, and place-based art projects.
CCIは、島民や地域の協働者との対話、ワークショップ、記録、共有体験、土地に根ざしたアートプロジェクトを通して、長期的な活動を展開しています。
EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT
教育と参加
CCI’s independently operated KIC English-language education program currently serves as the organization’s primary financial foundation. CCI aims to broaden this financial base through donations, grants, volunteering, and community cooperation, helping offset the operating costs of its long-term public-interest art projects.
CCIが自主運営する英語教育プログラムKICは、現在、組織の主要な財政基盤となっています。今後は、寄付、助成、ボランティア、地域との協力を通して財政基盤を広げ、CCIが展開する長期的な公益性のあるアートプロジェクトの運営費を支えていくことを目指しています。
People can take part in CCI by joining activities, volunteering, collaborating, becoming a member, making a donation, contributing documentation or specialist knowledge, and sharing local experience.
活動への参加、ボランティア、協働、会員、寄付、記録、専門知識、地域での経験の共有など、さまざまな形でCCIに関わることができます。
