Caminantes is an ongoing practice developed through walking, temporary intervention, moving image, sound, and material. Across coastlines, fields, dunes, former mines, and exhibition spaces, Elgueda Ward Studio uses direct encounters with place to explore relationships between bodies, distance, landscape, memory, and one another.

An early moving-image work realized in Mihama, Aichi, in 2017 used cotton gauze extended between walkers and through the shoreline landscape, making connection and distance temporarily visible as wind, terrain, movement, and time continually altered the material. In 2022, Caminantes was presented as a video installation at the Handa Red Brick Building during HANDA NEW VISION, translating an ephemeral outdoor action into an architectural and moving-image experience.

In 2025, Caminantes continued within Solastalgia at Masayoshi Suzuki Gallery, extending the inquiry toward environmental change, memory, belonging, and changing relationships to place. Each iteration responds to a different context rather than repeating a fixed work, leaving traces that may be physical, recorded, remembered, or temporary.
