360° Open Hiroba began in 2026 at Yama no Hiroba®, the ceramic outdoor theater in Mihama, as a recurring gathering open to local residents and visitors alike. The project has been developed together with Mr. Katsu, who relocated from Tokyo to Mihama and has played a central role in organizing and growing the gatherings.
A few invited speakers begin each event with short “Opening Talks,” and then the space opens further: anyone who wants to share can step in. The name comes from six minutes = 360 seconds. That time can be used freely—to talk, sing, share food, introduce an activity, express an idea or concern, or simply bring something into the gathering.
With the atmosphere of an open-air picnic, 360° Open Hiroba creates opportunities for people who may not normally meet to listen to one another, exchange knowledge and experiences, and discover unexpected connections. The project grows through the people who participate, including both longtime residents and people bringing new perspectives into Mihama.
360°オープン広場は、2026年、美浜町の焼き物野外劇場「山の広場®」を舞台に、町の人も来訪者も参加できる継続的な集まりとして始まりました。東京から美浜町へ移住したKatsuさんが、企画・運営の中心的な役割を担い、EWSとともにこの広場を育てています。
最初に数名のゲストによる「Opening Talks」があり、その後は、何かシェアしたくなった人が飛び入りで参加できます。名前の由来は、6分間＝360秒。その時間をどう使うかは自由です。話す、歌う、作ったものや食べ物を分ける、活動を紹介する、考えていることやモヤモヤを話すなど、決まった形式はありません。
外でピクニックを楽しむような雰囲気のなかで、普段は出会わない人同士が耳を傾け、知恵や経験を交換し、思いがけないつながりが生まれる場を目指しています。地域に長く暮らす人と、新しく美浜に関わる人、それぞれの視点が出会いながら、参加する人たちとともに広場そのものを育てています。

Each person can use six minutes—360 seconds—to share a story, idea, activity, performance, or something on their mind. 一人ひとりが6分間＝360秒を自由に使い、話、アイデア、活動、表現、思っていることをシェアします。
Open Participation / ひらかれた参加
The program remains open to spontaneous participation, allowing unexpected voices and encounters to become part of the event. 飛び入り参加も受け入れながら、思いがけない声や出会いも広場の一部になっていきます。
Gathering After Dark / 夜の広場で集う
Conversation and exchange continue informally after dark, creating the atmosphere of an open-air picnic and shared gathering place. 日が暮れてからも自然に会話や交流が続き、外でピクニックをするような、ひらかれた集いの場が生まれます。
