「姫島ラビリンス」は、大分県姫島村の廃採石場を想像力と協働で再生するアート／エコロジーの試み。エルゲダ・ウォード・スタジオ（EWS）が特定非営利活動法人クリエイティブ・カルチャー研究所のもと、ラビリンス型の野外劇場＝“生きた風景”を構想します。記念碑ではなく、地元素材の再利用と島民・研究者・ボランティアとの対話を通じ、人と場所、記憶と物質、採掘と再生の関係を結び直します。

The Himeshima Labyrinth is an art and ecology project that, through imagination and collaboration, seeks to regenerate an abandoned limestone quarry on Himeshima Island, Oita Prefecture. Led by Elgueda Ward Studio (EWS) under the Creative Culture Institute (NPO), it envisions a labyrinth-shaped open-air theater — a “living landscape” where art, science, and community meet. Rather than building a monument, the project reuses local materials and fosters dialogue among residents, researchers, and volunteers to renew the relationships between people and place, memory and matter, extraction and renewal.
