この作品は、2017年夏に私たち二人が交わした「一年間、毎日、最小の行為を続ける」という約束から生まれました。忙しい日にも短い静けさを確保し、紙の前で心と手が一致するのを待ちました。同じ場で同時に制作し、互いの手の跡は見ないまま進めました。
パート I〈言葉／前半180日〉： 無作為に選んだ語と約5分間向き合い、黒一色で手を離さず非具象の線を一筆で引きました。
パート II〈数／後半180日〉： 180から1までを、紙への行為――裂く・折る・切る・押す――に置き換えます。顔料やインクは使わず、紙片は切り離しません（切れ込みや折り返しは一枚の紙に残します）。
私たちにとって本作は、言葉や数と静かな黙想の中で向き合い、その意味をその時にしかありえない形へと翻訳していく瞬間を記録する――時間における二つの並行する身ぶりです。

2017 ~ 2018
This work began with a pact we made in the summer of 2017: to continue the smallest possible act every day for one year. Even on busy days, we secured a brief stillness, sat with paper, and waited until mind and hand aligned. We worked in the same place at the same time, without seeing each other’s traces.
Part I — Words (First 180 Days): After contemplating a randomly chosen word (verb or adjective) for about five minutes, we drew a single non-representational black line in one continuous stroke, without lifting the hand from the paper.
Part II — Numbers (Second 180 Days): We translated 180 down to 1 into actions on paper—tear, fold, cut, press. We used no pigment or ink, and we did not remove any pieces; every incision and fold-back remained with the sheet.
For us, this work records the moments of facing words and numbers in quiet contemplation, translating their sense into forms possible only then, two parallel gestures in time.
